The raw materials used in steel structure processing include steel plates or directly formed C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel. Many people think that there is no difference between these two types of steel except for the model, especially when we choose materials for the wall, both of them can be used. In fact, there are differences between these two types of steel. So what are the differences between them? Let's take a look:
Just looking at the appearance, the angles of Z-shaped steel purlins and C steel purlins are different. The C-shaped is 90 degrees, while the Z-shaped is less than 90 degrees, which is about 60-75 degrees. Therefore, when using purlins on a roof with a certain slope, the angle of the purlins must be considered in combination with the force. The Z-shaped purlins with a large slope can fully utilize their bending resistance. If you want to make the purlins into continuous components during steel structure processing, then choose Z-shaped steel purlins compared to C-shaped steel purlins, because the overlap of Z-shaped steel purlins is more convenient.
From the perspective of bending resistance, when the roof slope is relatively small, the bending section of the Z-shaped steel purlin is slightly larger than that of the C-shaped purlin, but the difference is not particularly large. When the roof slope increases, the utilization rate of the vertical bending section of the Z-shaped steel purlin increases, so the Z-shaped steel purlin is suitable for roofs with large slopes.
Then from the cross-section, the mechanical properties of the strong and weak axes of C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel are quite different, and the connection with the steel frame is mostly bolted, which needs to be considered as a simple support when calculating, while the Z-shaped sections can be connected through reliable overlap, so it can be calculated as a continuous beam. Therefore, from the perspective of stress state, calculation results and structure, the Z-shaped seems to be more reasonable. Therefore, except for the treatment of door and window openings and other special treatment needs, the preferred choice is still Z-shaped steel. During the whole steel structure processing, wall purlins and roof purlins with small shelving slope can choose C-shaped steel, and roof purlins with large shelving slope are suitable for Z-shaped steel purlins, so that the roof load can be reduced by the Z-shaped purlin section.
Whether it is C-shaped steel or Z-shaped steel, as long as it is placed in the right position, it can be fully utilized. For the processing of the entire steel structure components, these two types of raw materials are needed in the steel structure project. As long as the raw materials are qualified, standard components can be processed.
